Terms of Service
Effective date: April 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of opusappliancerepair.com and the appliance repair services provided by OPUS Appliance Repair (“OPUS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By scheduling a repair, requesting a quote, or using our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services we provide
OPUS provides in-home repair services for high-end residential kitchen and laundry appliances in San Diego County, California. The list of brands and appliances we service is published on our brands and services pages. We do not service mass-market or commercial appliances.
2. Diagnostic fee
A flat $80 diagnostic fee is charged for every service visit. The fee covers the technician’s time to inspect your appliance, identify the failure, and provide a written quote for the repair. If you approve the quoted repair, the $80 is applied toward the total. If you decline the repair, the $80 is non-refundable.
3. Quotes and authorization
Repair work begins only after you authorize it in writing or verbally to the on-site technician. Quotes cover the parts and labor described in the quote. If additional issues are discovered during the repair (for example, a second failed component), the technician will pause and provide a revised quote before continuing.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices for parts and labor vary by brand, model, and the failure being repaired. We will quote a firm total before starting work; you pay only what you approve. Payment is due upon completion of the repair. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. We do not store full card numbers — payments are processed by an external payment processor.
5. 90-day repair guarantee
We guarantee parts and labor on the specific repair we perform for 90 days from the date of completion. If the same issue recurs within 90 days, we will return at no additional cost to remedy our work. The guarantee covers only the repair we performed; it does not cover unrelated future failures, installation issues we did not perform, damage caused by misuse or accident, or wear-and-tear of other components.
6. OEM parts
We use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts unless the part is discontinued, in which case we will discuss alternatives with you before proceeding. Parts carry the manufacturer’s own warranty in addition to our 90-day workmanship guarantee.
7. Scheduling, access, and cancellations
- Access: you are responsible for providing safe access to the appliance, clearing nearby items, and ensuring an adult (18+) is present during the visit.
- Arrival window: we provide a time window for the visit. We will notify you if the technician is delayed.
- Cancellation: appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled at no charge with reasonable notice (preferably the day before). Same-day cancellations are accepted, but may affect future scheduling priority.
- No access fee: if a technician arrives at the scheduled address and cannot perform the diagnostic because no one is present or access is blocked, the $80 diagnostic fee may still apply.
8. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate appliance information (brand, model, the issue) when booking;
- Disclose any prior repair attempts on the appliance;
- Ensure the appliance is plugged in and powered (where applicable) so the technician can test it;
- Keep pets and children away from the work area for safety.
9. Limitations and disclaimers
We perform repairs to the best of our ability using OEM parts and manufacturer-specified procedures. We do not, however, warrant the future lifespan of the appliance itself or guarantee that an unrelated component will not fail in the future. Appliances are complex machines; some repairs identify the symptom but underlying causes may emerge later.
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, OPUS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of food due to refrigerator failure, water damage from leaks, or loss of use of the appliance, beyond the amount you paid for the specific repair. Some of these limitations may not apply to you because California law may grant you broader rights.
10. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse or stop service if conditions are unsafe (hazardous wiring, gas leaks, hostile environment, etc.), if the appliance is outside our area of expertise, or if a customer is abusive toward our staff. The $80 diagnostic fee may still apply for the time spent on site.
11. Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or inability to perform service caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, parts shortages from manufacturers, or government orders.
12. Privacy
Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Intellectual property
The website, including its text, photos, layout, and code, is owned by OPUS Appliance Repair. Brand names, logos, and trademarks of appliance manufacturers (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, etc.) are property of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the products we service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer unless explicitly stated.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services should first be addressed informally by contacting us. If we cannot resolve it, the dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you and OPUS consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, or other applicable consumer protection laws.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “effective date” at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force.
