Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 24, 2026
OPUS Appliance Repair (“OPUS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under California law. It applies to opusappliancerepair.com and to the appliance repair services we provide in San Diego County, California.
1. Who we are
OPUS Appliance Repair is a locally owned appliance repair business operating in San Diego County since 2016, based in Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92091. You can reach us by phone at (858) 788-7973, by email at info@opusappliancerepair.com, or through our contact page.
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly when you book a repair, request a quote, or contact us:
- Identifiers: name, phone number, email address (if provided), service address.
- Appliance details: brand, model, the issue you’re experiencing, photos you choose to send.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form, online booking widget, chat, voicemail, or email.
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site:
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location based on IP, timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small data files used to remember preferences, measure traffic, and keep the chat widget working. See “Cookies” below.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government-issued IDs, financial account numbers, biometric data, or precise GPS location.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Schedule appointments, dispatch technicians, and complete repairs at your address;
- Provide quotes, send appointment confirmations and reminders, follow up after the visit;
- Process the $80 diagnostic fee and any approved repair charges;
- Honor our 90-day workmanship guarantee on completed repairs;
- Respond to your questions submitted through the form, chat, phone, or email;
- Maintain records, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes;
- Improve the website, measure how visitors use it, and fix problems.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process personal information when one of the following applies: you have asked us to perform a service (contract), we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business that does not override your rights, you have given consent (which you may withdraw), or we are required to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only to the extent necessary:
- Resend — our transactional email provider. When you book online or contact us, we use Resend to deliver booking confirmations and notifications to you and to our dispatch team.
- Telegram — when you book online, an instant notification with your name, contact details, address, and the appliance issue is sent to our internal dispatch team via Telegram so a technician can be scheduled.
- Cloudflare — protects the booking form from spam and automated abuse (Turnstile). Cloudflare may process technical signals from your browser to complete this check.
- Google Maps Platform — powers address autocomplete in the booking form; the address text you type is sent to Google to return matching suggestions.
- Tidio — our website chat widget. Messages you send through chat are processed by Tidio on our behalf.
- Vercel — our website host. Standard server logs (IP, request details) are processed by Vercel.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — Google's analytics platform tracks aggregated, non-identifying site-usage data (pages viewed, session duration, approximate location from IP). GA4 sets
_gaand related cookies. To opt out across all sites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. - Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — first-party performance and visitor metrics processed by Vercel; no personally identifying information is shared with third parties.
- Payment processors — when you pay by card, the card data goes directly to the processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Legal and safety — we may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
We do not share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers.
6. Cookies and tracking
The site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. They fall into three groups:
- Strictly necessary — keep the site, contact form, and Tidio chat widget working. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — Google's GA4 platform sets the
_gacookie (2-year retention) and related identifiers to count unique visitors and analyze aggregated traffic. No personally identifying information is collected. To opt out, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on or block third-party cookies in your browser. - Performance (Vercel Speed Insights) — first-party measurements of page load timing. No third-party data sharing.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through the settings. Blocking cookies may affect parts of the site such as the chat widget. California residents can submit a privacy rights request at any time (see Section 8).
7. Data retention
We keep service records (job details, invoices) for as long as needed to honor the 90-day repair guarantee and to comply with tax and accounting obligations under California and federal law — typically up to seven years. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Chat transcripts are kept for up to 12 months. You may request earlier deletion as described in the next section.
8. Your privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it;
- Access a copy of that information in a portable format;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect such data;
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@opusappliancerepair.com, call us at (858) 788-7973, or use the contact form. We will verify your request by matching the details to our records and respond within 45 days.
9. Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. How we protect your information
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and limiting employee access to a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites (e.g., manufacturer documentation, blog references). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies before submitting personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “effective date” at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 30 days.
